Outlook fix - switch to new fcifarm.fci.local

2 min. readlast update: 03.26.2026

Our latest fix for Outlook means switching to a new server farm.  Please follow these steps closely to insure a smooth transition.

  • Save your work and properly log out of the network.
  • Switch the farm name on your Wyse box, minipc, or laptop, from fcirdpfarm.fci.local to fcifarm.fci.local.  If you don't know how to do this step, contact IT.
  • Log back in
  • Start MS WORD, not Outlook, first.
  • It should ask you to sign in to your Office account.  Sign in.
  • Close Word
  • Open Outlook (classic).  It is important that you use the Outlook (classic) version.
  • It should ask to set up your email account.  Do that and click Done when complete.

Outlook is configured a little differently.  It will load 1 year of email to a local file so things are quicker, but it may take an hour or more to complete depending on how much email you have saved.  Don't worry if your email is not showing right away, especially those saved in other folders.  Wait an hour or so and if they are still not there, then let IT know.

  • If you are a TMW user....
  • Go to the bottom right by the time and click on the ^ to show hidden icons.  Hover over them until you find "Citrix Workspace"
  • Right click on that and choose "Advanced Preferences"
  • Find "Reset Citrix Workspace" and click on that.  Choose "yes" when prompted.  A blue circle will spin and stop when complete.  Close the citrix workspace window.
  • Now  you can log into TMWSuite and should have no issues.
